[April 14, 2009]- The McDowell Lady Trojans started their 2009 season on the road playing hard but losing three consecutive games by only 5 goals. State College defeated McDowell 9-6. Meagan Bittner scored 3 goals in the loss, Kelly Murosky scored 1 goal and 2 assists, and Jen Dexter added 15 saves. In Morgantown the lady Trojans lost two 1 goal heart breakers against Morgantown and Fiarview before defeating University. Morgantown led McDowell 7-2 at the half. McDowell tied it at 7 with about 5 minutes remaining but lost 8-7. Kelly Murosky scored 3 goals and Alyssa Lindsey and Meagan Bittner each had 1 goal and 2 assists in the loss. Fairmont and McDowell exchanged leads numerous times and went to sudden death overtime before Fairmont won 10-9. Meagan Bittner scored 2 goals and had 3 assists and Kelly Murosky scored 3 goals. Jen Dexter had 19 saves. McDowell chalked up its first win of the year against University 12-10. Kelly Murosky scored 5 goals, Meagan Bittner scored 2 goals and had 2 assists, and Ali Stubbs scored 2 goals and had 1 assist in the victory.
